J&B Red Program (Personal Statement)“Storytelling that Lasts: College Admissions Essays for a Future Filmmaker ” Highlights: J&B consulted with the client on their Personal Statement and Special Circumstances essays for the University of Utah’s Asia Campus. J&B helped the client highlight their academic accomplishments, goals, and personal experiences in their essays to represent the diverse set of skills and love for film that they could bring to the University of Utah’s Asia Campus. At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to gather insights into their reasons for wanting to study at the University of Utah. The team incorporated the client’s ideas into outline form and conducted a series of back-to-back draft writing and editing steps until the client was satisfied with their final draft. Case:J&B consulted with the client on their Personal Statement and Special Circumstances essays for the University of Utah’s Asia Campus. Background:The client is a passionate and talented filmmaker with a strong background in film theory, editing, and animation. They have an impressive film portfolio and have engaged in numerous film editing projects, winning awards for their work. The client completed some classes at a university in the UK and hoped to attend the University of Utah’s Asia Campus for the rest of their college experience. Throughout the project, J&B helped the client highlight their academic accomplishments, goals, and personal experiences in their essays to represent the diverse set of skills and love for film that they could bring to the University of Utah’s Asia Campus. The Process:At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to gather insights into their recent projects, goals for college, and reasons for wanting to study at the University of Utah. The team incorporated the client’s ideas into two detailed outlines: one for their Personal Statement and another for their Special Circumstances essay. The client carefully reviewed the outlines and shared their feedback with J&B. The team then helped the client transform their outlines into essay form. After reviewing their first drafts, the client shared edits with the team, which they utilized to guide their revisions for the client’s second drafts. After reviewing their second drafts, the client was highly satisfied and J&B polished and edited the client’s essays so that they would meet the University of Utah’s word count limits and formatting requirements.
