J&B Red Program (Letter of Recommendation)“A Rising Star: Translating a Letter of Recommendation” Highlights: J&B worked with the client to translate and edit a letter of recommendation for the client’s college application. The client is an extremely talented filmmaker with a strong background in independently studying film theory, animation, and film editing. The J&B team translated the letter of recommendation from Korean into English and then carefully edited and polished the letter to remove awkward sentence structures, grammatical inconsistencies, or confusing language. Case:J&B worked with the client to translate and edit a letter of recommendation for the client’s college application.Background:The client is an extremely talented filmmaker with a strong background in independently studying film theory, animation, and film editing. As the client is applying as a Film & Media Studies major, their letter of recommendation highlighted their performance and passion for film. The letter of recommendation captured unique aspects of the client’s capabilities and accomplishments to help the admissions officers better understand what they could bring to their desired school. The Process:J&B met with the client to gather their letter of recommendation. As the letter was originally written in Korean, for the first step of the project, the J&B team translated the letter into English. Next, J&B carefully edited and polished the letter to remove awkward sentence structures, grammatical inconsistencies, or language that translated directly from Korean to English in a confusing manner. The team shared the finalized letter of recommendation with the client so that they could submit it with the rest of their application before the due date for their program.
