J&B Red Program (Common App)“Creativity, Compassion, and Humor in College Essays” Highlights: J&B consulted with the client on their Common App essay and supplemental essay for Yale, Columbia, Princeton, UPenn, and Georgetown. As the client is a passionate writer interested in English, philosophy, and activism, the J&B consulting team worked with the client to ensure that their creativity, compassion, and sense of humor were uniquely represented in all essays. J&B engaged in ideation, brainstorming, and editing sessions with the client to construct, revise, and polish all supplemental essays to meet the school deadlines in a timely fashion. Case:The J&B team worked with the client on their Common App essay and supplemental essays for the top schools: Yale, Columbia, Princeton, UPenn, and Georgetown.Background:The client is a talented writer passionate about English, philosophy, and activism. The J&B team worked with the client to highlight diverse aspects of their skills and attributes—tailored specifically to unique schools, programs, and majors. The team worked closely with the client to ensure that their creativity, compassion, and sense of humor were well-represented in all essays. The Process:At the start of the project, the J&B team helped the client finalize their school list. After the client confirmed which schools best suited their interests, J&B organized the project steps to meet all school deadlines in the order that they were due, splitting the project into three mini-batches. For the first batch of schools, the client produced a detailed list of ideas for each essay, which J&B used to help the client construct their first set of essays. The client then offered edits and revisions for each prompt, which the team utilized to create a polished set of final essays. The team repeated the process for batches two and three, to ensure that the client met all school deadlines in a timely manner. At the end of the project, J&B helped the client update their Common App essay to showcase multiple sides of their personality and bring out their unique voice as an applicant.
