J&B Red Program (TASS)“Writing Personal and Critical Essays for a Prestigious Summer Program” Highlights: J&B helped the client prepare four required essays for admission to the Telluride Association Summer Seminar (TASS)’s “Anti-Oppressive Studies” program. J&B split the project into the following steps: brainstorming, a reading period, an outlining stage, draft writing, and editing and polishing. To help the client merge their academic passions with a unique narration style, J&B worked with the client on creating relevant hooks and incorporating deep realizations and critical analyses into their essays. The Topic:J&B helped the client prepare four required essays for admission to the Telluride Association Summer Seminar (TASS)’s “Anti-Oppressive Studies” program. The Process:At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to brainstorm ideas for the TASS essay prompts. As Essay #1 contained required reading, the team gave the client additional time to read and reflect on the prompt. After gathering ideas for Essays #2, #3, and #4, J&B prepared detailed outlines for each prompt. The client utilized J&B’s outlines to write Essays #2, #3, and #4, and after sharing their insights about Essay #1, J&B was able to create another detailed outline for Essay #1. After adding additional, personalized details to Essays #2, #3, and #4, the client completed their draft of Essay #1. The J&B team edited and revised all four essay prompts so that they would be ready to submit to TASS before the client’s deadline. Writing Style:The client is a strong academic writer interested in practicing creative storytelling. To help the client merge their academic passions with a unique narration style, J&B worked with the client on creating relevant hooks, and incorporating deep realizations and critical analyses into their essays. As each essay asked for different styles of writing (some were more personal; others more academic) the J&B team also assisted the client with varying their tone to suit each essay prompt.
