J&B Red Program (Common App)“Building a Bright Future with Statistics: A College Transfer Application ” Highlights: The team helped the client prepare a Common App essay and supplemental essays for Columbia, Cornell, Stanford, MIT, Northwestern, and Johns Hopkins. As the client has a strong background in mathematics and biology, J&B incorporated their interests in statistics, data analysis, and language to capture their diversity as an applicant. J&B split the project into six major steps including: a pre-consulting session to gather insights into the client and their academic goals, a first draft stage, editing and feedback, the second draft stage, and final edits and polishing. Case:J&B consulted with the client on their transfer application to Columbia, Cornell, Stanford, MIT, Northwestern, and Johns Hopkins. The team helped the client prepare a Common App essay and supplemental essays for their chosen top-tier schools. Background:The client has a strong background in mathematics and biology and hoped to major in statistics, computer science, or pre-med. As the client plans to contribute to biomedical research in the future, the J&B team highlighted the importance of using their interest in statistics and data analysis as an interdisciplinary tool to help them succeed in their desired career. The client is also skilled in multiple languages, which the team incorporated into their Common App and supplemental essays to capture their diversity as an applicant. The Process:At the start of the project, the J&B team engaged in a pre-consulting session with the client to gather insights into their character and academic goals. After gathering the supplemental essays from the client’s chosen schools, they shared notes with J&B on the content they might like to include in each essay. Keeping the client’s essay goals in mind, the team helped the client prepare the first of their supplemental essays. After receiving feedback from the client, J&B helped the client edit the next step of their essays. After reviewing the client’s final drafts, the team polished and edited them to ensure that each essay captured the client’s unique voice as an applicant.
