J&B Orange Program (John Locke)“Defining Cults for John Locke” Highlights: J&B worked with the client on a 1,*50-word essay for the John Locke Essay Competition addressing the Theology prompt: “What distinguishes a small religion from a large cult?” The J&B team worked with the client on brainstorming, dissecting scholarly sources, analyzing their topic, a lecture session, outlining, draft writing, and editing and revising. To help the client construct a clearly organized, coherent essay, the team worked with the client on cutting down unnecessary details and ensuring that each claim fully addressed the client’s thesis. The Topic:J&B worked with the client on a 1,*50-word essay for the John Locke Essay Competition addressing the Theology prompt: “What distinguishes a small religion from a large cult?” The Process:At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to brainstorm ideas for John Locke. As the client had already selected a prompt and done preliminary research, the team shared eight scholarly sources with the client to provide them with deeper insights into their topic. Next, J&B conducted an initial seminar with the client to discuss three of the readings in greater detail. To take the discussion one step further, the team shared a 40-minute lecture and ten additional scholarly sources with the client. After the client reviewed the new sources, J&B conducted a secondary seminar to dive deeper into the nuances of the client’s topic. Next, the team shared a detailed, ten-page outline with the client to help them write their first draft. The client utilized J&B’s outline as a starting point and the team edited and revised their first draft. Following J&B’s guidance, the client produced a second, final draft which the team revised and polished so that it met their high-quality standards. Writing Style:The client is a detail-oriented thinker with a passion for theology. To help the client construct a clearly organized, coherent essay, the team worked with the client on cutting down unnecessary details and ensuring that each claim fully addressed the client’s thesis. J&B also helped the client with expanding their counterclaim and keeping their essay focused on their case studies. At the end of the project, the client was satisfied with their final draft.
