The Topic:J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word essay for the John Lock Essay Competition addressing the Junior Category prompt: “What is something important, about which nearly everybody is wrong?” The Process:At the beginning of the project, J&B met with the client to brainstorm ideas for potential prompts. As the client was open to all of the prompts in the Junior Category, the team shared relevant reading materials related to each prompt to help the client decide which one to choose. After the client narrowed it down to two prompts, J&B prepared a lecture addressing both topics to offer relevant background information for the client. The team also shared 10 scholarly sources related to the topics for initial research. Once the client selected the topic that interested them the most, J&B chose 3 sources and conducted a seminar session based on the readings to dive deeper into the ideas and theories surrounding the client’s topic. J&B then shared a detailed outline with the client which they used to write their first draft. After the client shared their draft, the team edited it and returned it back to the client with suggestions. The client followed J&B’s guidance to create their second draft, which the team polished and revised so that it would be ready for submission to John Locke. Writing Style:The client is a thoughtful writer highly conscious of the bigger picture of their essay. The team worked closely with the client on paraphrasing, clarity, and adding additional scholarly sources to their essay to elaborate on key ideas.
