The J&B team emphasized the client’s compassion, work ethic, and connection to their family in the Common App essay to demonstrate their suitability for the healthcare field. To highlight the client’s diverse interests, the team incorporated their passion for athletics, mathematics, and the sciences into their supplemental essays. The packet included the client’s Common App essay, supplemental essays, resume, recommendation notes, senior packet, and activities list. Background:The client is a STEM-oriented student who hopes to enter the field of healthcare. The J&B team emphasized the client’s compassion, work ethic, and connection to their family in the Common App essay to demonstrate their suitability for the healthcare field. To highlight the client’s diverse interests, the team incorporated their passion for athletics, mathematics, and the sciences into their supplemental essays. The J&B team also extensively researched the client’s schools to suggest sample courses and research opportunities that might fit the client’s interests. The Process:At the start of the project, the J&B team met with the client to brainstorm potential ideas for their Common App, resume, and recommendation notes. Once J&B gathered sufficient details, the team produced a detailed outline for the client’s Common App essay, which they used to produce their first draft. In addition to polishing and finalizing the client’s Common App draft, the team reviewed the client’s resume and produced a set of notes they could share with their teachers to help them write recommendation letters. J&B then split the client’s ten chosen schools into two batches. For the first batch of schools, J&B met with the client to brainstorm potential ideas for their supplemental essays. After receiving the client’s insights, J&B worked with the client to produce the first draft of their essays, which the client returned to J&B with feedback. In addition to editing the client’s first draft, J&B helped the client finalize their senior packet, which included details surrounding their academic goals, strengths, and interests, which their teachers used to assist them with their college application process. J&B repeated the same process for the client’s second batch of schools, although instead of working on the client’s senior packet, the team polished the client’s Activities List for their UC application.
