J&B Blue Program (John Locke)“No Binary Answers: Tackling a Tough Question for John Locke” Highlights: J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word essay for the John Locke Essay Competition addressing the Junior Prize prompt: “Is safety more important than fun?” J&B assisted the client with brainstorming ideas, selecting a topic, conducting a lecture and seminar session, outlining, draft writing, and editing and revising. To help the client take their writing to the next level, J&B worked with the client on paraphrasing, utilizing compelling examples as evidence, logically organizing their ideas, and inserting strong academic language into their essay. The Topic:J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word essay for the John Locke Essay Competition addressing the Junior Prize prompt: “Is safety more important than fun?” The Process:At the start of the project, the J&B team met with the client to discuss ideas for potential prompts. As the client expressed an interest in two of the Junior Prize prompts, the team shared relevant reading materials related to each prompt to help the client pick one. Once the client selected the prompt that appealed to them the most, the team shared a 40-minute lecture and 10 scholarly sources to give the client a strong foundation before writing. J&B then met with the client for a seminar session, where they conducted an informal debate with the client to help them solidify their stance. Next, the team shared a detailed, 10-page outline with the client to help them write their essay. After the client shared their essay with the team, J&B heavily edited and revised it to ensure that it was ready for submission to John Locke. Writing Style:The client is an inquisitive thinker interested in learning how to express their ideas clearly on paper. To help the client take their writing to the next level, J&B worked with the client on paraphrasing, utilizing compelling examples as evidence, logically organizing their ideas, and inserting strong academic language into their essay.
