J&B Blue Program (HIR Silver Medal)“Playing Russian Roulette with Nuclear Waste” Highlights: J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word article for the Harvard International Review (HIR) for their theme “Technological Advancement and the World” in its Energy & Environment category. J&B split the project into a brainstorming session, topic selection stage, lecture, seminar, outlining process, draft writing, and editing. To help the client meet their goals, the team worked with the client on restructuring their first draft to create a balance between a discussion of technological developments and international affairs. The Topic:J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word article for the Harvard International Review (HIR) for their theme “Technological Advancement and the World” in its Energy & Environment category. The Result:Silver Medal The Process:At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to engage in a brainstorming session and discuss potential ideas for HIR. After the session, the team met to prepare three creative topic suggestions for the client based on their interests. After the client selected a topic, J&B prepared a 40-minute lecture on the topic to provide the client with background knowledge. J&B also shared ten scholarly sources related to the lecture, which they discussed in detail with the client during a seminar session. To begin the writing process, the team shared an outline for the client to help them write their first draft. The client used J&B’s outline as a starting point and shared their first draft with feedback accordingly. The team prepared edits and revisions for the client’s first draft, which they used to write their second draft. At the end of the project, J&B polished the client’s final draft and prepared an evaluation of their writing skills throughout the project. Writing Style:The client has a passion for STEM and a desire to learn more about the technological aspect of their topic. To help the client meet their goals, the team worked with the client on restructuring their first draft to create a balance between a discussion of technological developments and international affairs. J&B also assisted the client with elaborating on key ideas using additional scholarly sources and creating smooth transitions from evidence to analyses.
