Highlights: J&B worked with the client on submitting a 1,000-word article to the Harvard International Review (HIR). The team split the project into: brainstorming, topic confirmation, a lecture, a seminar, an outlining phase, draft writing, and editing. To help the client address their topic from an objective yet analytical standpoint, the team worked closely with them on refining their thesis, crafting analyses of scholarly sources, and structuring their essay logically. The Topic: J&B worked with the client on submitting a 1,000-word article to the Harvard International Review (HIR). The Process: At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to gather ideas, potential themes, and topics the client was interested in writing about for HIR. After assessing the client’s areas of interest, J&B prepared three topic suggestions for the client, all of which would be competitive topics. After the client selected the topic that appealed to them the most, J&B prepared a 40-minute lecture and shared 10 scholarly sources to go along with it to provide the client with background knowledge on their topic. The team then met the client separately to for a seminar session, to discuss the readings in detail. J&B then shared a detailed, 4-page outline with the client consisting of sample sentences and sources to help the client write their first draft. The client prepared their first draft based on J&B’s outline, which the team then carefully edited and polished so that it would be ready to submit to HIR. Writing Style: The client is a careful writer interested in social justice. To help the client address their topic from an objective, yet analytical standpoint, the team worked closely with them on refining their thesis, crafting analyses of scholarly sources, and structuring their essay logically. At the end of the project, J&B and the client were pleased with their final draft. J&B’s Key Goals: Scholarly research Detail Analysis Objectivity
